The Ultimate Resource.
Norway’s First Floating Wind Tender
Norway has officially launched its first commercial tender for floating offshore wind at Utsira Nord, a site with a planned capacity of 500 MW. The process has drawn strong interest, with two major consortia submitting bids: one led by Equinor and Vårgrønn, and the other by Deep Wind Offshore in partnership with EDF Renouvelables. This marks a significant milestone in Norway’s ambition to expand its offshore wind industry and strengthen its position in Europe’s renewable energy landscape.
Power Cable Boosts Greece’s Energy Security
Greece has completed a landmark €1 billion energy project — a 330-kilometer high-voltage undersea cable linking the mainland with Crete. The new interconnection, financed primarily through EU grants and developed with the involvement of leading industry partners, will soon be fully operational. Once active, this strategic power link is set to play a crucial role in strengthening Greece’s energy security, supporting renewable energy integration, and enhancing regional grid stability across the Mediterranean.
UK Nuclear Sector Strengthened EDF’s Sizewell C Investment
The UK’s nuclear industry is entering a new phase of growth as EDF commits £1.1 billion to the Sizewell C nuclear power project. With the government already holding a majority stake, this fresh investment highlights the country’s determination to strengthen energy security and expand its long-term low-carbon generation capacity. Sizewell C is expected to play a pivotal role in securing sustainable power for future generations.
